Pirates have been sailing the seven seas for as long as there have been trade routes, plundering ships for their booty. There are some great pirate costumes including the Jack Sparrow costume from the movies Pirates of the Caribbean. Jack Sparrow was played by Johnny Depp.
Even though there were very few lady pirates, there are some sexy costumes available for those that want to ride the high seas. My favorite is the definitive swashbuckling hero, Errol Flynn in such movies as Captain Blood (1935) and The Sea Hawk (1940).
